Bright start for Santos coach

Cape Town - Santos coach David Bright has marked his first game in charge at the Athlone Stadium with a victory as his side ran out 3-2 winners over AmaZulu in an entertaining PSL fixture on Sunday.
The Peoples' Team got off to a flying start, scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes, thanks to a couple of elementary mistakes by Usuthu goalkeeper Mbongeni Mzimela.
Santos striker Erwin Isaacs was first to profit when his well-struck long range effort in the third minute went through Mzimela's hands and into the net.
Six minutes later Mzimela failed to deal with a corner, and this time it was Mogogi Gabanamong who took advantage by stabbing the ball home from close range.
The home side were on fire at this stage, creating goal-scoring opportunities at will.
They were unlucky in the 12th minute when Thando Mngomeni's mazy run resulted in him striking the cross bar with a 25-yard shot, while Romano Scott wasted two great chances; his second striking the upright.
The Cape side started the second half in a positive vein and had early chances with Mngomeni, whose shot was bravely blocked by Belux Kasongo, and Thom-Rick October, whose effort flew straight at Mzimela.
However, the game took on a different complexion in the 58th minute when AmaZulu striker Siyabonga Mkhwanazi converted from the penalty spot after a hand ball by Romano Scott.
Any hopes of a comeback by Clive Barker's men were however soon ended by Santos when Isaacs struck for a second time, slotting the ball past Mzimela in the 70th minute after bursting through the middle of the Usuthu defence.
The KZN side were however able to score a late consolation goal, which arrived deep in injury time, courtesy of a cracking drive by Litha Ngxabi, which gave Santos goalkeeper Wayne Roberts no chance.
