Khoza slams sensational report
19/02/2008 14:09 - (SA)
Johannesburg - Concerns over a Sunday Times report highlighting allegations of infighting in the 2010 Local Organising Committee were aired on Tuesday when the body's chairperson Irvin Khoza said the issue had been blown out of proportion.
Khoza who was a panelist on Safm's After Eight Debate reacted angrily to the fact that damaging reports always coincide with visits by Fifa delegations.
"We all need to unite, this is about the country, not individuals," he said.
Most panelists and callers to the show expressed their confidence that the LOC was on target with its 2010 preparations.
The Fifa tour began in Johannesburg and Tshwane on Monday. Construction sites in Rustenburg, Polokwane, Nelspruit and Mangaung will also be visited this week.
