  • Bafana on borrowed time
  • Johannesburg - Contrary to earlier reports, Bidvest Wits' goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs will be available for Bafana Bafana's international friendly against Paraguay next Wednesday.

The Students' medics had earlier submitted a report to Safa stating that the 27-year-old shot stopper was suffering from an injury.

However, Bafana manager Sipho Nkumane disclosed that Bafana's medical team examined Josephs' injury on Tuesday and has reported to the national squad's technical team that the player will be ready for action against the South American visitors next week.

"Normally after receiving reports on injuries, our medical team also has an opportunity to invite the players for further examination.

"We did this after receiving a report on Josephs's injury from BidVest Wits. Our medical team had an opportunity to examine Josephs' injury and I am happy to report that the player will be available for selection next week."

Nkumane also disclosed that so far there have been no changes to the squad. He added that all the overseas players invited, including striker Benni McCarthy, had confirmed their availability for the international in Tshwane next week.

Bafana players are expected to start reporting for camp on Sunday in Pretoria and will use either the Pilditch or Caledonian Stadiums for the practice sessions on Monday.
