Rustenburg - Luis Renteria netted a 55th minute penalty to give Platinum Stars a 1-0 win against Moroka Swallows and move from 10th to fifth place on the Absa Premiership table.

Swallows keeper Greg Etafia brought Stanley Kgatla down in the box and the referee did not hesitate to point to the spot.

Renteria sent Etafia the wrong way as he coolly slotted home the only goal in a lacklustre game.

Stars have 37 points and with this result pushed Swallows out of the top eight in to 9th place. The Birds have 36 points together with Orlando Pirates and Free State Stars but due to a better goal difference the two clubs are in 7th and 8th place respectively.
