Zim keeper set to join Wits

Johannesburg - Zimbabwean national goalkeeper Energy Murambandoro is in South Africa and looks set to resuscitate his career with Premiership side Bidvest Wits University.
The CAPS United shot stopper has already arrived at Milpark to start training with the Bidvest sponsored side and indications are that Roger de Sa will offer the giant goalkeeper a contract.
This will be a huge blow to compatriot Ian Gorowa who is known to be a fan of the agile goalkeeper and has actually tried to entice him to come to Germiston to try his luck with Moroka Swallows.
This was after Murambandoro earned rave reports and judged "Man of the Match" at the end of a friendly international match against South Africa which the Zimbabweans lost 2-1 but had it not been for the goalkeeper, the score could have been embarrassing.
However, Energy appears to have been swayed to consider the set-up at Bidvest Wits and possibly the prospect of fighting for the number one jersey with Moeneeb Josephs must have been too good to resist for the Zimbabwean who now wishes to become a student.
Murambandoro is no stranger to South African football having first played for the now defunct Hellenic in Cape Town and then joining Dynamos when the former was first relegated.
But the latter also failed to beat the drop and when no better offers came his way, Energy packed his bags and rather than play Second Division football, opted for the Premiership in Zimbabwe with CAPS United.
There were reports that Orlando Pirates were also interested. But it seems like when they saw Washington Arubi the Highlanders goalkeeper, their interest cooled off and now Murambandoro is concentrating on securing a long term deal with Wits.
It seems like after Sean Roberts left Bidvest Wits to join Ajax Cape Town, de Sa has been without a quality back-up goalkeeper to Josephs and that's when he started the search for a strong and reliable shot stopper - and it seems like the search is over.
