  • Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral has criticised Santos' approach of play during their drawn clash at Absa Stadium in Durban on Saturday night.

"For a team challenging for the league championship, they can't be playing defensive football. I would say their approach was destructive and that contributed to us failing to penetrate their defence. I think we deserved a little more than a point from this game," says Ertugral.

His counterpart at Santos, Major David Bright, defended his approach.

"No, it is not true that we were defensive. Our players simply played behind the ball and in my book that's not defending. I think we could have done better than we did. I was aiming for maximum points since I'm challenging for the league title. I won't give up because anything can still happen."

The Botswana mentor lamented the absence of leading goalscorer, Erwin Isaacs, who is nursing an injury.
