Dipela resigns from PSL
08/05/2008 11:40 - (SA)
Johannesburg - General manager Andrew Dipela will leave the PSL - but the charges of sexual harassment connected to two other employees of the League have been unconditionally withdrawn.
This was the gist of a statement released by the PSL on Wednesday night in which it is stated that Dipela is departing on his own accord and without any acknowledgement of wrong doing on his part.
The PSL and Dipela have clearly come to an agreement to bury what had erupted into an ugly controversy concerning the voluble general manager -and ,what is more, an undisclosed amount will also be paid to the departing official for what is described as being "for his significant contribution to the success of the League."
This is the second time Dipela has cut his ties with the PSL and the consensus in soccer circles is that it will also be the last time.
But stranger things have happened the South African soccer firmament and you never can tell.
