United not interested in Bartlett
15/05/2008 10:30  - (SA)

  • Hunt is off to play golf
  • United edge closer to title
  • Bartlett seems on his way out
  • Johannesburg - SuperSport United have shot down rumours that they are ready to pounce on Kaizer Chiefs' striker Shaun Bartlett, whose contract with Amakhosi is set to expire in a few weeks' time.

United's commercial manager Jose Ferreira said that reports suggesting they are after the services of the former Bafana Bafana striker are "far from the truth".

"It's news to us. We are not interested in signing Shaun Bartlett," said Ferreira.

Kaizer Chiefs' coach Muhsin Ertugral said he would not like to comment on the possibility of losing Bartlett at the end of the season, but conceded that Ugandan striker David Obua will not be part of the Glamour Boys next season as he is likely to get a move overseas.
