Basle - The winners of the 2008 Euro competition could pocket as much as €23m, Europe's governing football body said on Friday.
Uefa general secretary David Taylor said the organisation was expecting to generate a record income of €1.3bn through sponsors, media rights, hospitality and ticketing.
He said: "€184m of this has been earmarked for the 16 participating teams.
"All teams receive €7.5m for participating. They further receive €1m for a win and 500 000 for a draw in the group stages.
"The eight teams in the quarter-finals will each receive €2m, while the semi-finalists share €6m."
Taylor said that the revenue generated from this competition was an increase of between 35 and 40% from the last competition in Portugal four years ago. Sapa-dpa
