Mbesuma, Vilakazi join Downs

Johannesburg - One would have thought that after invading the transfer market and breaking the bank to sign more than nine quality players, they would be satiated, but Mamelodi Sundowns are not finished yet.
The "Brazilians" are said to have secured the services of both Benedict "Tso" Vilakazi and Zambian striker Collins Mbesuma, who both will be unveiled at a media conference on Wednesday.
Vilakazi was groomed by Ted Dumitru at the Sundowns academy before joining the Pirates academy from where he was promoted to the senior team where he spent more than five years carrying the club on his shoulders.
Mbesuma, meanwhile, created a stir when he scored 35 goals in a single season to help Kaizer Chiefs win the league championship but spells in England, Portugal and Turkey saw the player failing to recapture his scoring form.
During the last couple of weeks, Sundowns broke all kinds of records when they signed Kurt Lentjies, Sibusiso Zuma, Koketso Mmotong, Dario Monteiro, Derrick Spencer, Katlego Mphela and Siboniso Gaxa - an indication of their ambitions to dominate local and African football.

But perhaps their 2-0 loss to neighbours SuperSport United in the finals of the Mopani Cup after beating Dianaros in the semi-finals prompted them to go for broke and hence the arrival of "Ntofontofo" and Vilakazi.
The signing of the duo will certainly encourage their supporters to continue casting their votes for the team to qualify for the annual Telkom Charity Cup to be staged at the Mmabatho Stadium in Mafikeng.
Patrice Motsepe's team were kicked out of the tournament after qualifying when the PSL and the club failed to reach consensus on a suitable date that did not clash with Sundowns' participation in the Confederation Cup.
But this time, the club, who just trailed frontrunners Chiefs on Monday, looked a good bet to qualify for the one-day event.
