  • Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs' striker Mabhuti Khenyeza has gone AWOL again.

Khenyeza first disappeared from training at Naturena without permission more than two weeks ago, but then returned at the start of this week where he met with head coach Muhsin Ertugral and the technical department.

It appeared that the striker was let off the hook as Amakhosi team manager Bobby Motaung announced on the club's website that Khenyeza "will immediately resume" his duties at the club.

"We obviously sat down with the player, and it was in both our interests to understand the reasons behind him leaving camp without informing us.

"We have now acquainted ourselves with his personal problems that he needed to sort out. The technical team had since resolved the matter amicably and within the prescripts of player-management policy," said Motaung. However, Thursday afternoon Chiefs' chairperson Kaizer Motaung, disclosed in his weekly "Viewpoint" that Khenyeza had done another disappearing act.

    Motaung states:

"On a sad note, our preparations have been interrupted by unfortunate misdemeanour of Mabhudi Khenyeza, whose disappearance remains unresolved.

"After reporting for duty on Monday, the player went into another unexplained sabbatical whilst I had thought that the initial reason for his acts of Houdini were addressed.

"We are therefore challenged to address the matter before the start of the league and hope that the matter would be resolved."
