  • Durban - The MTN8 Final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs will be played at the Absa Stadium in Durban on September 20.Kick-off is scheduled for 20:15.

"I would like to thank the clubs for their input and the spirit in which they accepted the decision," said PSL General Manager: Football, Ace Ncobo said in a statement released after a Cup Committee meeting on Thursday.

"A number of factors were taken into consideration before we reached the decision and now that we know where the MTN8 Final will take place we can plan full steam ahead to make this a memorable occasion for both teams, soccer fans and our wonderful partner, MTN," he added.

Tournament sponsor, MTN is also pleased with the decision.

"We are happy with the decision and assure all supporters of an exciting event on September 20, which also coincides with the Peace One Day campaign, which will form part of the celebrations on the day. We wish both Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs all the best, and true to its name, when the final whistle blows, we will congratulate "the last man standing" in the MTN8 wafa wafa," said Anthony Garstang, senior manager for sponsorship and events at MTN SA.

With this historic competition reaching epic proportions in only it's first year, the final itself will provide for further landmarks.

Tickets go on sale from Friday (August 29) and are available from Computicket outlets and all Shoprite and Checkers stores.

Tickets range from R30 for adults on the main grandstand (West) to R20 for adults on the North, South and East stands and R10 for children.

Fans are once again urged to purchase their tickets from the above outlets only as strict measures will be in place to counter forged tickets as well tickets sold on the black market.
