Crusaders include 3 new faces

Wellington - The Crusaders have included new signings Ali Williams, Kade Poki and Kahn Fotuali'i in their team for the opening Super 14 match of the season against the Brumbies on Friday.

Scrumhalf Fotuali'i partners New Zealand flyhalf Dan Carter and Williams plays at lock alongside Brad Thorn, who returns to the Super 14 for the first time since 2004 following a stint in rugby league.

Casey Laulala and Stephen Brett will start in the centres for the game in Christchurch with Poki and Scott Hamilton on the wings.

Leon MacDonald, Kade Poki, Casey Laulala, Stephen Brett, Scott Hamilton, Daniel Carter, Kahn Fotuali'i, Mose Tuiali'i, Richie McCaw (captain), Kieran Read, Ali Williams, Brad Thorn, Greg Somerville, Corey Flynn, Ben Franks.

Reserves: Ti'i Paulo, Wyatt Crockett, Michael Paterson, Nasi Manu, Andrew Ellis, Tim Bateman, Sean Maitland.
