Johannesburg - World Cup Springbok prop CJ van der Linde has been included in the Cheetahs squad of 26 that left for Australasia on Sunday.
Van der Linde, who has been rested to recover from a calf injury, and fellow-Springbok Barend Pieterse who injured his chest, will undoubtedly provide some experience and also power to a young Cheetahs side.
The Cheetahs play the Chiefs in Hamilton on Saturday.
They play the Crusaders on March 15 before they return via Australia where they play the Brumbies (March 21) and the Waratahs (March 28).
The Cheetahs, winless after three outings, lost their first two games by a single point. Their nine tries are also the most by a South African franchise after three matches.
The squad:
Backs: Hennie Daniller, Eddie Fredericks, Gavin Passens, Herkie Kruger, Jongi Nokwe, JW Jonker, Meyer Bosman, Hendrik Meyer, Jacques-Louis Potgieter, Conrad Barnard, Falie Oelschig and Tewis de Bruyn.
Forwards: Duanne Vermeulen, Darron Nell, Juan Smith (capt), Heinrich Brussow, Kabamba Floors, Barend Pieterse, Rory Duncan, David de Villiers, Flip van der Merwe, Wian du Preez, Ronnie Uys, CJ van der Linde, Kobus Calldo, Adriaan Strauss and Richardt Strauss.
