Roddick: 2nd title in 3 weeks

Dubai - Andy Roddick claimed his second title in three weeks, becoming the first American to lift the title at the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships with a 6-7 (8-10) 6-4 6-2 defeat of Feliciano Lopez on Saturday.
Roddick secured the 25th title of his career after winning in San Jose last month. His debut in the oil-rich emirate could not have been more successful as he lost just one set (against Lopez) and did not drop serve all week.
The defeat ended a run of form for the unfancied 41st-ranked Spaniard from Madrid, whose momentum came to a dead halt as he lost the ninth game of the second set on a double-fault.
From that point on Roddick rolled into command, beginning the final set with a break of serve on his way to the victory.
The American improved to 25-13 lifetime in finals after beating world number two Rafael Nadal and third-ranked Australian Open winner Novak Djokovic in the previous two rounds.
The victory improved Roddick's record to 4-0 over Lopez, who will move up ten ranking spots while Roddick remains on sixth in the world. - Sapa-dpa
