'I am so proud of my country'

Cape Town - Singer George Meiring has paid his own way to New Zealand to perform the South African anthem before Saturday's Vodacom Tri-Nations Test between the Springboks and All Blacks.
"This is a lifelong dream for me and to get the opportunity to sing the anthem before such a big Test is unbelievable," said Meiring.
"I am so proud of my country and this team that the cost of a plane ticket really seemed insignificant."
Meiring, runner-up in 2006's popular Supersterre competition, released his debut-album Onthou die Tye in 2007.
When not performing songs off the successful album, he also serves as host for guests of a prince of Saudi Arabia, meaning a hectic travel schedule to destinations such as Paris and the Seychelles.
Meiring's involvement on Saturday is another example of SA Rugby's commitment to working with the local music industry to grow international awareness around local talent.
All pre-match entertainment for home Tests is performed by South African artists.
