Munich - Want to lose 10kg of body fat? It's simple - all you need to do is spend 100 hours pedalling away on a bicycle.
Or if bicycling is not your thing, then there are other methods, but they will take even more time, according to the German medical practitioners' magazine Aerztliche Praxis.
The magazine said that a person weighing 80kg would need to go walking for 267 hours to take off those 10kg, or go jogging for 110 hours. Or play tennis for 146 hours.
All this assumes no further measures aimed at reducing body weight, the report said. It added that the best method for taking off those extra kilos is to combine both exercise and a healthy diet.
In particular, low-intensity physical activity such as jogging, cycling or walking are best combined with dieting, since the body will have fewer carbohydrates to burn and will thus start using up the fat reserves, the doctors' magazine said. - Sapa-dpa
