Hanoi - A pharmaceutical company in Vietnam has received permission to launch the country's second anti-impotence drug, an official said on Thursday.

The Central Pharmaceutical Company No 1 will from later this month market Lovegra, which would have the same effect as Viagra and similar impotence drugs, a company official said.

"We imported the material (to produce Lovegra) from Europe and the tablets can only be bought with a doctor's prescription," he said.

According to unofficial figures, more than two million Vietnamese men suffer problems with erectile dysfunction.

Vietnam's first anti-impotence drug was launched by another company in March.
