London - A 44-second sex clip on the European Union's new YouTube channel EUtube is causing quite a stir and raking in all the hits.

The clip entitled Film Lovers Will Love This! - features couples having sex - cut together from different films made in Europe, the BBC reports.

According to the BBC, the clip is one of four made for screening in European cinemas to advertise a fund that helps distribute successful films made in EU states.

The video has been called tacky and soft porn, but supporters say it shows Europe's artistic heritage.

According to EUobserver.com the clip is the most popular video viewed on EUtube - with over 120 000 views so far.

The clip is reportedly part of a campaign to boost interest in the workings of the European Union.
