iPhones 'disappear' from stores
03/04/2008 10:34 - (SA)
San Francisco - Apple Inc said on Wednesday it's "working to replenish" iPhone supplies at its US stores, which two investment analysts believe are out of the combination phone and digital media player.
The alleged US-only iPhone shortage is fuelling speculation a new, third-generation version will be introduced as soon as next week, or that there's a crimp in the iPhone component supply chain.
Both Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster and Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconaghi, in notes to clients this week, said iPhones couldn't be found at Apple's hundreds of US retail stores.
