Powell: Iraq dodging inspectors
05/02/2003 18:18 - (SA)
New York - Iraqi officials hid correspondence on military industrialisation, ordered the removal of prohibited weapons from key sites and hid prohibited items in their homes, US Secretary of State Colin Powell said on Wednesday.
"Saddam Hussein and his regime are doing everything they can to make sure the inspectors find absolutely nothing," Powell said.
Powell cited intelligence sources that Saddam's son had ordered the removal of weapons from palaces, while officials and scientists had hidden documents on military industrialisation, removed hard drives from computers and hidden prohibited items in their homes. - Sapa-AFP
