5 Syrians 'killed by US missile'

Damascus - A US warplane fired a missile at a bus bringing Syrians home from Iraq, killing five and wounding at least 10 others, the official SANA news agency said on Monday.
It said the incident occurred on Sunday morning near Iraq's al-Rutbeh area, some 160 km from the Syrian border.
"A US warplane fired a missile at 10:00 local time yesterday (Sunday) on a civilian bus carrying Syrian nationals in al-Rutbeh... killing five and wounding at least 10," the agency said.
A Syrian official confirmed the incident.
The agency said that 37 people were travelling on the bus when it was hit.
Syria, the only Arab member of the United Nations security council, has been a staunch opponent of the US-led war on fellow Arab Iraq.
