Huge explosion rocks Baghdad

Baghdad - A huge explosion was heard in Baghdad on Tuesday afternoon and a massive plume of black smoke could be seen pouring into the sky.
The blast came from the southeast of the city, but it was not immediately possible to determine its exact origin.
A reporter in the city said an oil trench, of the kind lit by Saddam Hussein's regime to block the visibility of coalition warplanes, was burning, but residents closer to the blast denied this.
They claimed children had set the trench on fire.
Within minutes, another smaller ball of thick black smoke appeared in the sky several kilometres away.
On Saturday, at least six people were killed and dozens injured when a stash of Iraqi weapons guarded by United States troops exploded south of Baghdad. US commanders said that blast was caused by an Iraqi attack.
