Stockholm - UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan said on Wednesday that the UN will continue its work in Iraq, despite the bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad in which at least 17 people were killed.
"We will carry on our mandate that has been given to us by the Security Council," he said at a news conference at Stockholm airport shortly before he was due to board a flight to New York.
At least 17 people were killed, including the top UN representative in Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello, and more than 100 were injured in the truck bombing on Tuesday, according to the UN.
