Najaf - Four non-Iraqi Arabs detained by Iraqi police have confessed to the car bombing which killed a leading Shi'ite cleric and dozens of others, while three other suspects are on the run, a police source said on Saturday.
"They confessed to the attack," the source said, although he would not say if they revealed in whose name they carried out the blast which killed 82 people and wounded more than 200.
Ayatollah Mohammad Baqer al-Hakim, a top Shi'ite cleric and political leader, was killed in Friday's car bombing outside the mausoleum of Imam Ali in the Shiite holy city of Najaf.
