Baghdad - Two United States military police officers were killed and one was wounded in a bomb attack here, the army said on Tuesday.
An army spokesperson said: "The two officers were killed and one was wounded when their vehicle struck an improvised explosive device on a main supply route south of Baghdad."
The injured officer was evacuated for treatment after the explosion which happened on Monday afternoon, she said, but gave no further details.
The latest deaths take to 67 the number of US soldiers killed in guerrilla attacks in Iraq since President George W Bush declared major operations over on May 1.
A further 78 have died in accidents or other circumstances unrelated to combat.
Coalition forces here say the daily attacks they face are carried out by Saddam Hussein loyalists and other anti-American extremists.
