Baquba - Six Iraqis were killed, including a nine-year-old girl, and 40 wounded early on Saturday when a car bomb hit a police station in this hotspot town north of Baghdad, police said.
The dead also included four police and an elderly woman. The wounded were mostly police, said officer Hassan Mahmud.
A large crater was visible just outside the police station. Nearby vehicles were completely destroyed and the police station was severely damaged, an AFP correspondent said.
The second blast happened minutes after a similar explosion in Khan Bani Saad where five Iraqi police were killed and at least nine wounded.
