Much evidence against Saddam

Baghdad - Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi said on Wednesday the country possessed a great deal of evidence against Saddam Hussein, the jailed despot due to be hauled in the docket on Thursday.
"There are tons of papers documenting Saddam Hussein's actions," Allawi told the state channel al-Iraqiya, established by the now defunct US-led coalition provisional authority.
"International organisations have promised to furnish additional documents," he said.
Allawi pledged Saddam would have a fair trial.
A shackled Saddam will make his first public appearance on Thursday since his capture more than six months ago, when Iraq reads off the charge sheet against the former president and 11 others.
