Shoot-out at Baghdad hotel

Baghdad - Gunmen shot dead six people on Thursday and kidnapped a Turkish businessman outside a hotel in central Baghdad, police said.

The incident occurred at 06:30 when gunmen opened fire on a minibus that came to pick up the businessman, killing all six on board, police Lieutenant Bassam al-Abed said.

The Turkish businessman, who the police officer identified as Abdul-Qader Tankello, was kidnapped by at least 10 gunmen who drove off. - AP
