New York - The US is spending about $6bn a month fighting the war in Iraq, Josh Bolton, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, said Monday.
Speaking on Cable News Network, Bolton said "the rate of spending varies".
"We're probably up in the $6bn range per month spending in Iraq."
He defended the costs and said "we're going to spend what we need to spend to defend this country and make sure our fighting men and women have the resources they need."
