Camp Pendleton - Charges against one of the eight US marines accused in the killing of 24 Iraqi civilians in the town of Haditha have been dismissed, a said Marine Corps official on Tuesday.
The charges against sergeant Sanick Dela Cruz were dismissed because of "insubstantial" evidence against him, said the official.
Three marines remain charged with murder and four others are charged with dereliction of duty for failing to properly report and investigate the deaths.
