South Africans missing in London
11/07/2005 12:06 - (SA)
London - At least one of the people named in a London Dutch Reformed Church congregation on Sunday may have been located safe and sound, the church's minister said on Monday.
Dominee Dawie van Vuuren said it was likely that most of those still missing were in fact just out of touch with relatives and friends.
A list of 15 names was read out on Sunday, whittled down from a list of about 50.
Some had changed telephone numbers or addresses but had not informed parents or friends.
In other cases, relatives and friends had taken down the numbers incorrectly.
Terrorist bombs in London last week left 49 confirmed dead, and hundreds injured.
Van Vuuren said he would know later in the day who been accounted for.
The names are:
Jacobus Nel Visagie;
Triston McNean;
Henk Goosen;
William Masieko;
Christene Govinder;
Tania Anderson;
Petro Charsley;
Hayley Fielding;
Andre Apollos;
Colin Chumalu;
Marina Chikh;
Ronel de Beer;
Stephan Fouche;
Jhanet Thyssen; and
Mark Anderson.
