London - Sky News report that armed police have taken up positions outside a house minutes after what was reported to have been a controlled explosion.
Officers have been seen outside the property in Hyde Park Road, Burley, shortly after a series of raids on homes in Leeds.
Neighbours at one of the addresses reported that a 22-year-old man who lived there with his family had gone missing.
Police hunting the terrorists behind last week's London bomb attacks have raided five homes in West Yorkshire.
AFP reported that police raided at least five premises earlier on Tuesday in what Metropolitan Police commissioner Sir Ian Blair called a "significant" operation related to Thursday's bombings in London which killed at least 52 people.
Police sealed off a section of Colwyn Road in Beeston, Leeds, where around 10 officers stood guard.
Scotland Yard said the raids were part of an "intelligence-led operation". No arrests had been made.
Met Commissioner Sir Ian Blair said it was "likely" there would be another attack but insisted the terrorist threat could be defeated.
"Another attack is likely, there's no doubt about that. But when - who knows?"
