London - British police said on Saturday they had raided an address in southwest London in connection with the failed bombings of subway trains and a bus in the city earlier in the week.
"We have entered a property in the SW2 area of London and the search is ongoing. There have been no arrests as yet," a spokesperson for the city's Metropolitan Police told AFP.
The raid was linked to events on Thursday when four bombs were let off, three on London Underground subway trains and one on a bus, but failed to cause injuries after apparently not detonating properly.
The SW2 district
The SW2 district of London is not far away from Stockwell, where two men have been arrested in connection with the hunt for the bombers, who fled after their devices went off.
On Friday, a third man was shot dead in Stockwell Underground station after being pursued by armed police. Officers said on Saturday he was not linked to the bombing probe and called the death "a tragedy".
The attacks on Thursday were a near-identical repeat of the suicide bombings on subway trains and a bus two weeks before, when 52 people were killed, plus the four attackers.
