London - The men charged with attempting to explode bombs on the London transport system on July 21, two weeks after suicide bombers blew up three underground trains and a bus, are to face trial in the city's Old Bailey on November 14, a court ruled at their first appearance on Monday.
Ibrahim Muktar Said, 27, Ramzi Mohamed, 23, and Yassin Omar, 24, all residents of the city, appeared before a special sitting of the Bow street magistrates court held in the high security Belmarsh prison in the southeast of the British capital.
They face charges of conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, conspiring to endanger life by using explosives and of making or possessing explosives.
Manfo Kwaku Asiedu, 32, also of London, appeared in connection with the discovery of a discarded rucksack containing an unexploded bomb in northwest London on July 23.
A fourth suspect, Hussain Osman, is being held by police in Rome pending extradition.
The botched July 21 attacks occurred exactly two weeks after four suicide bombers killed 56 and injured 700 in attacks on the city's transport system. -Sapa-dpa
