No charges over Menezes death

London - London police officers will not face criminal charges for fatally shooting a Brazilian man they had mistaken for a suicide bomber, news reports said on Monday.
The reports also said the Metropolitan Police department would be charged with violating health and safety laws.
The reports could not be independently confirmed.
The official announcement by the crown prosecution service was scheduled for later in the day.
Jean Charles de Menezes, 27, was killed by police on a London subway train on July 22, 2005.
The shooting occurred two weeks after four suicide bombers killed themselves and 52 commuters on three subway trains and a bus, and a day after a similar but failed set of attacks.
Police, who have apologised for the killing, said later they had mistaken de Menezes for one of the suspects in the failed attacks.
