West Bank - Palestinian prime minister Ahmed Qorei tendered his resignation on Thursday as a session of parliament in which he was to unveil his new government's program was postponed, a source close to Yasser Arafat said.

"Ahmed Qorei has submitted his resignation to the president," the source told AFP.

It was not immediately clear if Arafat had accepted the resignation, which comes just four days after Qorei was installed by the veteran Palestinian leader in a presidential decree which also ushered in emergency rule.
