US tightens up Camp X-Ray

Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba - Security is being revamped at the American base where three former military employees have been charged with offences ranging from espionage to adultery, a US general said on Wednesday.
Fresh allegations surfaced on Tuesday against one of Guantanamo's former Muslim chaplains, who was charged with disobeying a regulation, adultery and using a government computer to store pornography.
"We've put a number of measures in place and we do that every day because we have so many computer networks," Major General Geoffrey Miller said on Wednesday, saying there had been firewalls installed on computer systems, but refusing other details.
None have been charged
None of the outpost's 660 or so detainees accused of links to the fallen Taliban regime or the al-Qaeda terror network have been charged, and it is still unclear when or if they will be tried or released.
Despite criticism from human rights groups, Miller said interrogators were continuing to gather important intelligence information and base personnel were working with foreign government to obtain it.
Recently, a delegation from Saudi Arabia visited Guantanamo.
"During the month of October we acquired seven times as much high-value intelligence as we did in January 2003 from virtually the same detainees," Miller said. "We're going to be here as long as takes."
Miller, who had said months ago that three juveniles being held would be transferred soon, said their release was being held up at higher levels.
The military says there are three boys between the ages of 13 and 15 held in separate quarters. But Miller also said on Wednesday there are other juveniles, ages 16 and 17, mixed in with the adult prison population.
