Stockholm - The trial of the 24-year-old man accused of killing the Swedish foreign minister last September will begin on January 20 in Stockholm, a news report said on Tuesday.
The Dagens Nyheter quoted senior prosecutor Krister Petersson as saying the trial was expected to last about one week.
Foreign Minister Anna Lindh was stabbed at a Stockholm shopping centre in September as she walked without security protection.
The suspect, who comes from a Serbian immigrant family, fled the scene but was eventually picked up by police. He has proclaimed his innocence but authorities say they have good evidence linking him to the crime. - Sapa-dpa
