Paris - A bomb alert prompted the evacuation of all stations on a train line that cuts across the French capital, as well as metro stations that connect to it, on Thursday evening, said police.
Traffic on the RER-A line that crosses the French capital and links it to the suburbs was interrupted at 20:15 (18:15 GMT), police said. All stations, both in Paris and the suburbs, were evacuated so officers could search them.
Also evacuated were metro stations that connected the underground network to the RER line, said the RATP public transport company.
French authorities have been on high alert since the March 11 bombings in Madrid, Spain.
