Savannah, Georgia - World leaders at the G8 summit will agree to improve airline security, including tougher passenger screening and accelerated efforts to destroy shoulder-launched missiles, a US official said on Tuesday.
Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States are expected to agree to increase information-sharing about passengers and threats among law-enforcement groups, said White House spokesperson Jim Wilkinson.
They will also "accelerate efforts to destroy portable, shoulder-fired missile systems," known as MANPADS, he said.
