Stampede kills 10 Hindus

Bombay - Thousands of Hindus panicked during a religious procession in western India on Tuesday, triggering a stampede that killed 10 people, a television report said.
Chandra Kent, the superintendent of police in the town of Satara, said that 10 people had died, and many more people had been injured.
The Aaj Tak network said 30 people were feared trampled to death in Satara, in western Maharashtra state.
More than 100 000 people are reported to have gathered for the Hindu festival. - AP
