Taipei - Two men allegedly linked to the mysterious election-eve shooting of Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian last year have since died in separate suspected suicides, reports said Monday.
President Chen and Vice President Annette Lu were slightly wounded on March 19 when two bullets grazed their bodies as they campaigned in an open-topped jeep in southern Tainan, a day ahead of elections.
One suspect, Chen Yi-hsiung, was found drowned in Anping in southern Tainan city on March 28 last year while another identified as Huang Hung-jen was found dead at his home of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound, TVBS reported.
It did not specify the date of the second suspected suicide.
The station did not reveal its sources or explain why the information had only recently come to light.
Police were later to hold a press conference on the issue.
