London - Actor Irvin Allen, who appeared in two James Bond movies, will appear before London magistrates on Monday charged with the murder of his wife, police said.
Allen, who had roles in On Her Majesty's Secret Service and The Spy Who Loved Me, was arrested after the body of his wife, Chamlong Allen, was discovered in a garage close to their home in Ladbroke Grove, west London. She had been stabbed to death.
Allen, who is reported to be in his 60s, had retired from acting to run a food stall at London's Portobello Road market with his Thai-born wife. The couple have three children.
A police spokesperson said officers were called to the garage on Wednesday morning.
"Officers attended to discover a woman, aged 49 years. She was pronounced dead at the scene," he said.
"A post-mortem ... has confirmed that she died of multiple stab wounds."
Allen was arrested on Friday and formally charged on Saturday.
He played evil henchman Che Che in the 1969 Bond Movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service with short-lived Bond George Lazenby, and appeared in 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me with Roger Moore as Bond.
He also had parts in Stanley Kubrick's Lolita and the Peter Sellers comedy The Revenge Of The Pink Panther and appeared in classic TV shows Z Cars and The Saint.
