Belgrade - Serbian police said on Monday they had arrested a man suspected of exchanging child pornography on the internet in the first such case in the Balkan republic, Tanjug news agency reported.
Acting upon data given by the FBI that a suspect had been in contact with others in the United States, exchanging child pornography on the internet, the police arrested the unidentified 19-year-old man from the western town of Sabac two weeks ago, the agency quoted police official Zoran Djokic as saying.
The identity of the suspect was not revealed because of the ongoing investigation, Djokic said.
If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
