Paris - French police have arrested a Russian national who has been linked to the alleged murderer of Dutch film-maker, Theo van Gogh, said officials on Thursday.
Bislan Ismailov, a 25 year-old believed to be close to Chechen Islamist groups, was arrested on May 18 in the central city of Tours and was awaiting extradition to the Netherlands.
Ismailov's fingerprints were detected on a document found at the home of Mohammed Bouyeri, who was standing trial for Van Gogh's murder last November.
