Air hostess found in cockpit

Athens - The body of an air hostess was found in the cockpit wreckage of the Cypriot airliner that crashed in Greece at the weekend, a senior army source confirmed on Tuesday, indicating that at least one crew member may have tried to gain control of the plane moments before its fall.
"An air hostess was found in the cockpit wreckage," said the source.
Greek daily Ethnos on Tuesday reported that two F-16 jets that scrambled to intercept the incapacitated Helios Airways airliner allegedly saw an air-hostess wrestling with the controls, and recorded their testimony on a video recording on board their aircraft.
Greek authorities had earlier said the fighter pilots saw on Sunday two people in the cockpit "appearing to want to take over the controls", but added it was not clear whether they were passengers or crew.
"The pilots gave no clear picture of seeing an air-hostess in the cockpit, they (only) saw the shapes of two people," said the army source.
The source added any video recording of the Cypriot airliner would have captured images of the plane from behind, not from the side.
