London - The editor of The Sun, Britain's largest-selling daily newspaper, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly assaulting her husband, police and news reports said.
Sky News reported that Rebekah Wade had been detained for allegedly assaulting her husband, actor Ross Kemp.
London's Metropolitan Police, when asked about the case, would say only that officers had been called to an address in south London at 04:00 and arrested a woman for an alleged assault on a man. The man refused medical treatment for a cut mouth, police said.
Wade, 37, has been editor of The Sun since 2003. She and Kemp have been married for three years.
