China's rise will be peaceful Bush urges Chinese reform

Beijing - Chinese President Hu Jintao said Sunday he will visit the United States early next year, as he met with his US counterpart George W Bush in Beijing.

Hu, speaking in front of reporters to Bush during a meeting at the Great Hall of the People, said he had accepted an invitation from the US president.

"I accept your invitation with pleasure. I am willing to visit the US early next year," Hu said.

Hu postponed a visit to the United States in September this year due to the Hurricane Katrina disaster.
