Sharon suffers 'minor stroke'
18/12/2005 20:42 - (SA)
Jerusalem - Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon suffered a minor stroke on Sunday night, the country's second television channel said.
A hospital spokesperson said later Sharon had regained consciousness.
Sharon was admitted to the trauma department of Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital.
Quoting those close to Sharon, the television said he had been taken ill early in the evening. On arrival at hospital, he was admitted lying on a stretcher, it added.
Last July, Sharon denied rumours that he had suffered a heart attack.
Sharon, who turns 78 next February, underwent surgery last year and also had a cancerous growth removed from his face in a Tel Aviv hospital the year before.
